The Hakodate Gospel Song Club gave concerts at a long-term care health
facility in Hakodate on 21st and 22nd of Dec., 2011.
One of the staff of the facility said, "I don't think they will sing
together because there are many males and they don't sing with a microphone
at a karaoke time," but when we started to sing, almost people were
singing along with smiles. And they were nodding and listening to us explain
the songs we had sung.
After singing, they said, "My heart got to be warmer than before," "the songs were awesome," "I wanted the residents at the first floor and the second floor to listen to the songs, too,"" "Come and sing again."
And we sang again at the same facility on 6th of Jan., 2012. They who we
had met at the Christmas party welcomed us with great smiles, so we were
so glad, and not only the visitors but also the residents of the facility
came to listen to our gospel songs, that made us so happy and appreciated.
The staff also sang "God is Love" with smiles and dancing, and
the audience were clapping their hands while they were listening to the
songs. At the end of the concert we sang together and we had a happy and
blessing time. Thanx to our God and the audience. The staff gave us pictures
that he had taken at the Christmas concert, that might be a good memory.
On 6 Nov., 2011, The Hakodate Gospel Song Club appeared as members of the
Hakodate Civic Choir on the Hokodate Civic Music Festival 2011, that was
the second time since we attended the Christmas Gospel Concert with a gospel
choir, VOJA (Voice Of Japan) last year.
After we have started "the second stage of overseas missions",
when the Lord dispatched a mission team to Israel, and indicated us "praise
team to go" in a sunday serivce at Lake Galilee, we were singing the
gospel songs with VOJA on "the second stage." Be filled with
joy overflowing from our inner body, from beginning to end, we were able
to sing forcefully with a smile.
We thank you God and to VOJA members to lead us very well, and to the staff
of the event, also to the choir members. This means something special,
so we expect something from now on.
As their schedule and destination of a trip has been changed under the
influence of East Japan Earthquake, junior high school students in excursion
came to Hakodate on 30 Aug., 2011. They enjoyed a gospel song workshop
with us as a learning experience at Hakodate Kanemori Warehouse Hall.
Although it was very hard to gather all of the members of the gospel song
club because they were working on weekdays, one of original members had
just come back to Hakodate in that morning, so we asked him to join the
workshop and he accepted it. We practised only once with him before it,
though, he made a fantastic chorus with a strong singing voice in the workshop
with big smiles, light clapping and steps. And he also made good communications
with the students, that helped us so much.
And it was great that we could see a lot of smiles the students made with
a little shy, and their smiles made us joyful and happy. We presented them
two CDs, and we wish they would listen to the CDs and sing together after
they got home.
And it was a huge learning and harvest that we could see professional works
of the hall staff who were very kind to us. We appreciate you all. We got
a new challenge to try and we are also sure that God will show us a great
result, because He told us, "I will send you, so go in your own strength."
The Hakodate Gospel Song Club gave a volunteer birthday concert at a long-term
care health facility in Hakodate, in blessing of the 4th halo and zenith
arc we have seen since 22 May, 2011.
We were welcome very warmly and gladly by the staff and residents of the
facility, and while we were singing, they were listening to our songs with
clapping their hands, and sang some songs with us, that made it a wonderful
concert with smiles and joy!
After the concert we talked with them drinking tea, and they told us, "Please
come and sing again." We appreciated them and Almighty God. May God
bless you all!
